The 5th grade students of PS 83 have just finished learning about our earth's rain forests and the wonders of their ecosystem. From plants and flowers, to the rain forest animals, to the unfortunate natural and human deforestation.
In response to their studies they decided to have a 'green' bake sale to help raise funds for the rain forest animals that are being displaced from their natural environment due to the shrinking area of the forests.
A K-8th grade bake sale was held on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, that raised over $1,900 for Kids Saving The Rain Forests, a non-for- profit organization aimed to helping the rain forest animals. If you would like to help us out please feel free to visit http://www.kidssavingtherainforest.org/

Thank you to all that contributed to this year's annual 49th Precinct Food Drive! This year we collected over three tons of food for the less fortunate. The amount of food donated by P.S. 83 will help feed families long past the holiday season.
