Our Wellness Committee held its annual Crock-Pot Cook off this week.  Each grade was represented as the entire school was welcomed to come and taste the culinary delights that were slowly cooking throughout the day.  NYC Wellness staffers were on hand to sample and vote for the best dish.Our 6th grade Mathletes Competed in the Math League Competition!

Annual Health & Wellness Fair

The 4th Annual Health & Wellness Fair took place this past weekend.  Although it started out a little wet and cold, it turned out to be a great event!  

Also, thank you to Community Learning Schools for the forum, prizes and delicious/healthy lunch!!

Wellness & Nutrition Chopped Challenge

Our PS 83 Chopped Challenge is a culmination of how  Wellness and Nutrition work throughout the year by our after school clubs facilitated by Ms. McGlynn, Ms. Loretta and the Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation. Each week, students learn about nutritious foods, tend to the garden and create tasty, healthy treats. The Chopped Challenge lets our junior chefs show off their culinary skills and compete against other awesome cooks from the clubs.

PS 83's 2nd Annual Door Decorating Contest

On February 14, PS 83 had its annual door decorating contest celebrations. Everyone did a fantastic job!!  Thank You to all of our students and teachers. Each door was selected for the following categories- Visual Impact, Craftsmanship, Completeness, Creativity and the Educational relevance.    

Ps 83 helps bring back Barnes & Noble

P.S. 83 visited Barnes & Noble during their last hours with a special holiday wish...

P.S. 83 held a holiday event at Barnes & Noble that featured the middle school choir, guest read alouds from administrators, student gift wrappers and a visit from Assemblyman Gjonaj. In addition, we delivered over 3,000 letters to Barnes & Noble asking them to keep their promise of relocating in the Bronx as soon as possible.  The letters were written by students from P.S. 83 and other schools in District 11.
