Ps 83 helps bring back Barnes & Noble
P.S. 83 visited Barnes & Noble during their last hours with a special holiday wish...
P.S. 83 held a holiday event at Barnes & Noble that featured the middle school choir, guest read alouds from administrators, student gift wrappers and a visit from Assemblyman Gjonaj. In addition, we delivered over 3,000 letters to Barnes & Noble asking them to keep their promise of relocating in the Bronx as soon as possible. The letters were written by students from P.S. 83 and other schools in District 11.
PS 83 Pumpkin Patch
Thank you Councilman Vacca!!
Today Councilman Vacca came to visit us to introduce a new horticultural grant that will allow us to convert our front yard into an outdoor classroom. With the help of the Horticultural Society, we will be building upon our garden while also creating an outdoor classroom with tree stumps for chairs and desks.
The event started with the Councilman giving away pumpkins and reading a book called How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin? by Margaret McNamara.

WIN THIS BIKE!!!
We are currently holding a raffle for our middle school students who can maintain a 95% attendance average until May 1st. At that time all students with 95% attendance rate or better will be entered into a raffle to win prizes, including this Mongoose dirt bike. Make sure you are here everyday, and good luck to all!
In addition to winning prizes, such as this bike, students with 95% attendance rates and better are often invited on Bulldog Buck trips if there are empty spaces, so MAKE SURE YOU ARE HERE EVERYDAY!
Students will be allowed to purchase school uniforms during the school day.
Parents will be allowed in the building from 8:30-10:30 to purchase uniforms
